Meth lab seized in Elba
One arrest made by Coffee County Sheriff's Department
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department recovered an operational methamphetamine lab last Friday morning, Oct. 8, at a residence in Elba.
According to Chief Deputy R.W. Whitworth, the sheriff’s department received information that Daniel Aaron Baxley, age 26, of 2651 Marilyn Street in Elba had been purchasing pseudo-ephedrine and various chemicals associated with making meth. On the morning of Friday, Oct. 8, he said investigators from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department went to the residence.
Whitworth said the investigators spoke with Baxley and gained entrance into the residence. Upon entering the home, he said officers recovered an operation meth lab along with methamphetamine product and chemicals used in the manufacturing of the illegal drug.
Baxley was reportedly arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine – first degree and trafficking in methamphetamine. He was placed in the Coffee County Jail last Friday on these charges with no bond pending a probation/parole hearing.
Whitworth noted that additional arrests are pending in regards to this particular operational meth lab.
