Vahle - Gilmer wedding held in late April

Mary Nerissa Gilmer and Mark Warren Vahle were married at six o’clock in the evening on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Clemson, South Carolina.
The Reverend Christopher Heavner performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. William Lawrence Gilmer and the late Mrs. Barbara Land Gilmer of Florence, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Emory Gilmer, Sr. of Elba, Alabama and the late Mr. William Ronald Land and the late Mrs. Mary Rennison Bailey, of England.
The bride carried her great great great-grandmother’s lace handkerchief in her bouquet and wore the groom’s grandmother’s diamond ring.
She is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at a hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
The groom is the son of The Honorable and Mrs. Chet Warren Vahle of Quincy, Illinois. He is the grandson of Mr. Clifford Clarence Hemmann and the late Mrs. Gladys Ann Hemmann of Quincy, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Kenneth Vahle of Quincy, Illinois.
The groom is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He is employed in Quincy.
Maids of Honor were Katie Adelaide Gilmer and Caroline Rose Gilmer, sisters of the bride.
Best Man was Michael Kenneth Vahle, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Meagan Mahoney Chatlosh, Mary Elizabeth Hill and Jordan Marie Miller.
Groomsmen were David Robert Marold II, Jonathan Eric Mengering, Matthew Carl Phillips, Zachary James Salisbury and Hoyle Taylor Thompson IV.
Scripture reader was Kristen Ann Vahle, sister of the groom.
A program of wedding music was presented by Rebecca Bowman, organist.
A reception followed at the Madren Center in Clemson, South Carolina.
After a wedding trip to Asheville, North Carolina the couple will live in Quincy.
