The annual Coffee County Farm/City Ag Tour made its way through Elba last Thursday, June 28, as two stops were made in Elba.
The day’s tour began on a cattle farm on County Road 636 while the second stop on the tour brought the group to Elba business Kelley Foods of Alabama.
Kelley Foods officials gave the group a tour of the distribution center while giving detailed descriptions of the various other aspects of this family owned, family operated business. In the photo to the right, Eddie Kelley, CEO/President, takes a moment to talk with the group during their tour of the distribution facility.
Upon leaving Kelley’s, the tour stopped at the activities building of Westside Baptist Church in Elba for lunch. The hamburger and hotdog meal, cooked by Max Bozeman, was provided by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, Alabama Ag Credit and First South Farm Credit.
The Farm City Ag Tour ended with a stop at the Coffee County Stockyard in New Brockton where the group got to witness firsthand an actual sale.
