Restoration 154 Inc., a non-profit entity created by Elba’s Justin Maddox and Philip Box, focuses on rejuvenating and restoring this community and others in the area by creating activities that in turn breed more activity.
One project already underway in Elba is the restoration of the old Elba Theatre. There is no exact timeframe on completing this project with progressive work is being done as funds will allow.
In hopes of moving the project along, Restoration 154 currently is seeking donations from organizations and/or individuals that would like to see the old theater operating once again on the square in downtown Elba.
During their board meeting held last Thursday, July 19, the board of directors of the Elba Chamber of Commerce voted unanimously to donate $200 to Restoration 154 Inc. This money will be used to help restore the old Elba Theater.
This was the second $200 check that Box and Maddox have collected recently for this project. Just Folk Coffeehouse, also located on the historic downtown square in Elba, also presented Restoration 154 with a $200 contribution recently.
