Whitt Watts

This summer Whitt Watts, a junior at Auburn University, will be living in Elba and working as a Living Democracy Fellow. Specifically, Watts will be working with Restoration 154 alongside his host, Justin Maddox. Watts is a political science major from Birmingham, Alabama, and will spend ten weeks in Elba, from June 3 to August 12. “I am thrilled to have a chance to be part of such an incredible time in Elba’s history,” Watts said. “Restoration 154 is doing great things across the area, and I am honored to serve the community through Living Democracy.” Maddox, one of the people instrumental in the operations of Restoration 154, said he is very excited to be working with Watts this summer. “Restoration 154 is all about partnerships to help grow our efforts,” Maddox said. “It’s great to be able to work with students and bring them into Elba to see the impact they can have on local communities.” Watts will be spending time all around Elba, from picking vegetables for the food bank to working out on the Pea River. Watts hopes that regardless of when or where he is working, he can be an asset to the entire community. He can be reached by email at jww0038@auburn.edu, or by phone through 205-382-6602.
