Alabama Forestry

On Friday, Jan. 17, consulting forester John Loflin will host a field visit in Covington County to talk to area landowners about how to generate or enhance income from woodland property.

His presentation, "Forest Management for Small Landowners," will cover forest management topics such as replanting, choosing the right tree species for a site, thinning, prescribed fire, and working with neighboring landowners to form a co-op for more successful timber sales.

Forest landowners are invited to attend. Attendees will meet at David's Catfish House at 1842 E. Three Notch St. in Andalusia at 9:30 a.m. and will caravan to the private property no later than 10 a.m. for the tour and presentation. Afterwards, everyone is invited back to David's Catfish for a dutch treat lunch.

If you'd like to attend, RSVP to jnelson@afoa.org or call (205) 624-2225 or (334) 524-1920.
