Mr. Harry “Tokey” Winston Boland, age 86, died Friday, July 5, 2019, in Opp, Ala., following a long battle with dementia.

He was born January 2, 1933 to parents Sidney Henry and Adee Grimes, one of eight children. He was given the nickname “Tokey” by the mailman as he loved to meet him and help carry, or tote, the mail.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp with Donald Hall officiating and Wyatt Funeral Home directing. Should there be inclement weather, the graveside service will be held at Wyatt Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Ruby Nell (Scarbrough); daughter: Becky Boland Bryson (Corwin Padget), Monticello, Fla.; son: Don Winston (Rhonda), Opp; grandchildren: Jesse Bryson, Dothan, Ala., Abby Bryson (Ryan Langan), Chapel Hill, N.C., Meagan Bryson Ahmad (Abdul), Tallahassee, Fla., Ashley Hall (Josh), Opp, and Zackary Nelson (Mary), Homewood, Ala.; great-grandchildren: Nelson and Farris Hall and Mae and Rose Nelson; special friends & caregivers: Heather Bass and Julia Robertson; brothers: Bill, Charlie Jack, and Jearl Boland; and sister: Betty.
