William Hayes Ammons age 81 a resident of the Zion Chapel Community died Friday, December 7, 2018 at Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne, AL. Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home

Chapel on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Will Jordan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rugg Family Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o 2900 n. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.

Hayes is survived by his daughter - Lisa Smith and son-in-law – Alan Smith of Jack, AL; son - Michael Ammons and daughter-in-law - Meg Ammons of Comer, AL; grandson - Josh Smith, of Lena, LA; granddaughters - Ciara Legg, of Jack, and Frankie Ammons, Auburn, AL; great granddaughter - Cadence Legg, of Jack; brother - Lamar Ammons, San Antonio, TX, and a sister - Earlene Green, of Troy, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eva Pearl Ammons and Andrew Jack Ammons, by his wife, Rebecca Ann Rugg Ammons, and by a grandson, Austin Smith
