Mrs. Mary Alice Lee, age 94, of Elba, Ala., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, at Taylor Mill Oaks Assisted Living in Elba.
Longevity being a staple in Mrs. Lee's life, she lived for 94 years and was married to the love of her life for 72 years. She was employed by Elba Exchange Bank for 43 years, touching many lives through her career and life.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m., from Elba United Methodist Church with Minister Steve Reneau and Minister Stanley Carter officiating. Burial services followed in the Evergreen Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home of Elba directing. The Lee family requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Elba United Methodist Church or Evergreen Cemetery Fund.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband - John Glen Lee, father - Odie Dyess, mother - Lena Cook Dyess, daughter - Mary June Lee, special granddaughter - Tesha Lee, and brothers - Wilburn Joseph "Pete" Dyess, James Robert "Tweet" Dyess, and Wilson "Percy" Dyess.
Survivors include her daughter: Judy L. (John) Hughes, Montgomery, Ala.; son: Joe G. Lee, Elba; granddaughters: Katherine (Josh) Jackson, and Emily (Andy) Lawton, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Cortlin (Matthew) Bond, Birmingham, Ala.; brothers: Marlin (Lela Ann) Dyess, Montgomery, Tom (Elizabeth) Dyess, Elba; and sister-in-law: Clara Ann Dyess, Elba.
