Dear Editor,

I want to comment on the article in the Elba Clipper on the New Brockton Council Meeting of February 4. I know the lady who submitted the bill that was denied. It is thanks to her that the Town has a park. She single-handedly asked for donations to build the pavilion, to erect the marble sign for the park, to buy trees to plant, to put facilities in the bathrooms. She sought donations for the plants to create the flower gardens on the street corners. She planted the azaleas by the park and at the traffic light intersection. She has asked for help; but she has spent many dollars out of her own pocket to buy plants and to decorate the corners. She has painted buildings, swept up sidewalks, and picked up trash to keep the downtown from unsightly neglect. She has worked tirelessly for the good of the Town. And because she did not dot every i or cross every t, she is being denied $49.03. I am very disappointed.

Sincerely, Annette Williams
